1992 saw the expansion of the ministry to Ponneri area (60kms from Chennai). A

In 1993 and 1994 the ministry expanded to new regions in the state of Tamilnadu and the number of workers increased to 12.
In 1995…
Expansion of ministry to 7 leper colonies and increase of staff to 15 was the growth in 1995. This growing ministry was supported by many prayer cells and Bible Study groups.
In 1996…
A special milestone was reached in 1996 as we started slum ministry in Navi Mumbai area of Maharashtra. 12 villages were covered with 6 new staff and a monthly budget of Rs. 26,000/-.
In 1997 – 1998…
New programmes were started. Word Festivals encouraged Christians to read the word, study and meditate upon it and also helped believers grow in the Lord. A special programme “Delight” for young girls was started to cater to their spiritual needs and also to guide them in their path of life.
In 1999…
We expanded the ministry to Kumarapatnam in Karnataka and Coimbatore in Tamilnadu in 1999. Fireplace, a programme for ladies was a new venture this year. It ignited the spiritual fire in the hearts of many women coming from different backgrounds.
In 2000…
In 2000, the ministry continued to grow to other areas and the existing programmes were strengthened. 2001 was our tenth anniversary. It was a time to look back and count on the many blessings which the Lord had done and also to move forward. Along with the 40 missionaries we praised God for what He has done through us. A special program called “Sponsor Summer Special” to cater to the spiritual and physical needs of sponsors was started this year.
In 2001 – 2002…
In 2002 ministry was established in the slums and leper colonies of Delhi and neighbouring state Andhra Pradesh. The number of missionaries increased to 61 and the budget to Rs. 1,76,000/- per month. 5 Kindergarten schools were started in the slums of Navi Mumbai to help slum children receive good education in English.
In 2003…
Ministry in Orissa and Pondicherry were started in 2003. The strength of the missionaries rose to 73 and the monthly budget was Rs. 2, 24, 000/-
In 2004…
Yet another milestone of Word for the World was the expansion of ministry to Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh in 2004.
In 2005…
December 2004 saw the tragedy of the killer Tsunami which affected the coast of Tamilnadu and Pondicherry. In 2005, we were able to get involved in the rehabilitation of Tsunami affected villages of Pondicherry.
In 2006…
In 2006, our ministry was expanded to Goa and Jammu and the number of missionaries reached 100 and the annual budget was Rs. 3,60,000/-.
In 2007…
2007 – Expansion of ministry to more slums and villages in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Chandigarh.
In 2008…
2008 – The number of missionaries rose to 150 with ministry in about 13 states.
In 2009…
2009 – With 172 missionaries ministry of Word for the World spread to 15 states of India. The monthly budget was over Rupees 4 lakhs.
In 2010…
2010 – The needy states of Gujarat and Rajasthan came under our ministry. More and more tribals were reached with the gospel.
In 2011…
2011 – Six churches were built in Gujarat and Rajasthan. Ministry expanded to Madhya Pradesh and Dadra Nagar Haveli.
From 2012 – 2015…
2012 – 28 churches were established till this year. The number of missionaries rose to 186 in 20 states. 2013 – This year was celebrated as the year of fruit bearing. All the programs emphasized on the importance of fruit bearing. 2014 – ‘Thirumarai Thiruvizha’, were conducted in many centres. This is a smaller program similar to Word Festival to teach the people about the Bible. The dream project of Word Centre was born this year. 2015 – Word Centre was dedicated for God’s glory. It is a 5000 square feet facility comprising the Training Centre, Missionaries’ Guest House, Headquarters and Director’s residence. The ministry expanded as far as the North east when a mission field was opened in Manipur.
In 2016…
At present we have over 223 workers involved in our ministry in 20 states.
